Here's a copy of the letter describing what Katie will be doing this summer!!
From July 6 – 17, Katie will be in the Ukraine serving a camp for children with special needs. Many of these children have rarely left their homes because of the inaccessibility of transportation and buildings, limited resources, and negative attitudes. This group will have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them. In order to make this possible, we need to put together a sponsorship team…people like you who can support Katie financially and who are willing to pray for her each day as she serves God in the Ukraine. Katie needs to raise $2400 to cover her trip by June 9th. This amount includes airfare, travel expenses, food, and lodging. Any money that is above that target for the trip will be used to support other trip participants on our team or future trips.
We would appreciate your prayerful consideration of giving financially to meet this need. The first portions of Katie’s funds are due by May 10th in order to cover her airfare. All contributions are tax deductible and your check needs to be made payable to Grace Community Church. Please don’t write anything on the memo line. I have enclosed a return envelope for you to mail contributions back to us and we will turn them in to our trip leader.
Katie and I would also appreciate your prayer support as she prepares for the trip and especially in July while she’s in the Ukraine. Specifically, pray that God will be with Katie and the rest of the team in any and every way that means. Please pray for their safety and that lives would be changed because of the love of Jesus that is shared – among the students from Grace and the children they will be serving.
